“2019 was the year I was turning the dreaded 5.0.!! I was sitting on the beach over 4th of July that year in my tight Land’s End skirt suit and decided it was time to take control! I started at Treadfit with my sweet college kid who inspired me. I had heard of Treadfit through my old fellow Mother McAuley friends and was doubly motivated to support a Might Mac alum’s business. So my daughter and I started going together about 1-2x a week. We quickly figured out I was a morning person and she wasn’t, so I signed up for the 6am classes, did my first challenge and then was hooked! What really changed me was the Focus on You Challenge which I did in October/November. Treadfit taught me how to exercise but also how to eat –calorie and macronutrient wise.
Seven months and several other challenges later, I am down 10 lbs and multiple inches; I went from 5lb weights up to 12-15 lbs and run my sprints at 8.0! I have never felt better and YES at 50! Now I attend the 5am classes and average 5-6x a week. I feel like when I don’t go, my day is incomplete.
